The Trump Dept. of Justice announced it was investigating the head of the Federal Reserve for lying to Congress about the over-budget ongoing renovation of Federal Reserve buildings. Unlike other prominent political figures, heads of tech companies, senior partners in prestigious law firms and university presidents, Powell did not surrender in advance to the flimsy allegations, instead he calmly denied them and called the investigation what it is, an attempt by the Whitehouse to retaliate against the Fed for refusing to lower interest rates.
