Tell me straight, doctor, is it serious?

"Yes. I'm afraid it's... it's another blog."

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

OK, time to move past denial and announce a brand-new blog

Gurney to the Dark Side.

What could provoke such a desperate act? U.S. health care.

Here are a couple points from the initial post.

This blog is a cartoonist's experiment. The plan is to penetrate the Stygian mists of the health care debate with satire. My primary goals are first, to understand the whole mess better by setting myself the task of producing a weekly cartoon on this subject, and second, to argue for fair and decent health policy for our fair and decent country.

Wish me luck, but please don't say "Break a leg"

Pete

Yet more uncommon wisdom (#14)

This one is dedicated to a friend who would never describe himself in the terms above. But there are many of us across the country who are glad that he is so good at being the one of a kind Bill Bell.

A work in Progress, UPDATED April 7)

Here is what we auteurs refer to as a "Snippet" (prononuced sni-PAY) of a new project I am very excited about. It's a look at the 1964 Alaska Earthquake through a child's eyes, mine to be exact. We lived in the hard-hit Turnagain area at the time. This takes us up to the moment when the quake struck, which my brother Dave and I treated like a surprise romp on a magic trampoline. Clueless. What can I say? I was five.
